How can I visit Drouseia?

Drouseia is located about 10-15 minutes from Polis Chrysochous and 40-45 minutes from Paphos, with access via paved country roads.
From Polis Chrysochous:
– Through the community of Prodromi: a short and scenic route.
From Paphos, there are two main options:
– Through the Municipality of Pegeia: a tourist route with beautiful views of Akamas and the villages of western Paphos.
– Through the municipality of Strubi: a mountainous route that passes through traditional villages and olive groves, offering spectacular scenery.
All routes lead along well-maintained roads and offer opportunities for stops, photos and exploring the Cypriot countryside.

Is there anything I need to know before visiting Drouseia in winter?

In winter, access to the village remains easy, but there may be rainfall or fog. Careful driving and a light coat is recommended due to the cool climate.

Are there any local products I can buy?

Yes! You can find local honey, halloumi, wine, carob and olive oil from local producers. The products can be found in shops or directly from the producers themselves.

What are the main points of interest in the village?

Drouseia combines nature, history and authentic Cypriot hospitality, offering experiences for every visitor. Highlights include the square and traditional cafes, old mansions and alleys, panoramic viewpoints, nature and hiking trails, the Akamas Museum of Rural Life, local workshops and local producers, agrotourism accommodation, and taverns with local cuisine.

Can I stay overnight in the village?

Sure. In Drouseia there are agritourism accommodations, traditional guesthouses, small hotels, and other family accommodations.

Are there any organised tours or activities?

Occasionally cultural and environmental tours are organised, mainly in cooperation with institutions or schools. Check the “Events” page or ask at the Community Office for any guided tours.

Are there facilities for disabled people?

Disabled access is ensured in several places, such as the square and selected cultural centres. The community is gradually working on improving accessibility.

Is there parking space in the village?

Yes, there are public parking spaces available near the square and the main points of interest. Parking is free of charge.

Does the village have recreational facilities?

Yes, Drouseia offers scattered recreational areas, such as benches, shade spots and stylish rest areas both in the square and along the hiking trails. Some spots also offer panoramic views, ideal for relaxation and photography.
